Congratulations Mr and Mrs Mortimer
Welcome to the world baby Mortimer! (Still waiting for confirmation on the name) Mrs Mortimer gave birth on 14th May to a beautiful baby boy at 1.40pm. He was nine days overdue and weighed in at a healthy 8.4lbs. Congratulation to Mr and Mrs Mortimer, I’m sure that Cai will make a wonderful big brother. We look forward to meeting the youngest member of our Mount Pleasant School family.
Booknic
Thank you all for coming to our annual booknic event. It was so lovely to see so many of our families supporting and celebrating their child/children’s learning. Please don’t worry if you were unable to attend due to work commitments. Please be reassured your child would have spent time with either a member of staff or friend to share their learning journey.

Thanks to all our parents and school community for supporting school over the first half of the Summer Term. We look forward to working with you over the next half term. Please remember to return to school being mindful of the weather and make sure your child/children are wearing sun cream and have a sunhat which is clearly labelled. Have a wonderful half term break.

PARENTPAY – BOOKING MEALS
Gentle reminder to book your child meals after half term. If meals are not booked, pupils will be offered a ham or cheese sandwich.
Y4/5 Swimming- Last day Friday 7th June
We have received positive feedback from Newport Live in regards to the behaviour, resilience and determination to make progress of our pupils during the first two weeks of swimming.
We look forward to completing the third and final week of swimming when we return from the half term break on Monday 3rd June. Huge thanks to the teachers and staff from Newport Live for supporting our pupils.
General Election Impact on School
Mount Pleasant will be closed to all pupils on Thursday 4th July due to polling taking place on school site for the General Election.
Unfortunately we will need to change the date of our Extravaganza to Thursday 11th July from 4.00pm – 6.00pm.
Armed Forces in Education
