HALF TERM – MONDAY 21ST – FRIDAY 25TH FEBRUARY

Welsh week

The children will be preparing for our Eisteddfod, this week, with the main event taking place on Tuesday 1st March, upon our return to school.

***EISTEDDFOD HOME PROJECT***

This year, our Eisteddofod whole school home project is to create your very own 'CYMRU MEWN BOCS' or 'WALES IN A BOX'!

For this, all you'll need is one shoe box, and a large dose of creativity!

What we'd like the children to do is to capture the essence of Wales in a little scene within a shoe box. This could be the Welsh Rugby Team winning the Grand Slam (We did say a large dose of creativity!), or it might be a Male Voice Choir singing in the Valleys. It could be a host of golden Daffodils, or a Welsh dragon breathing fire over its rival dragons!

Whatever Wales means to you, we'd like to see it reflected in a shoe box.

We'd like all entries to be brought into school on the Monday after Half Term (February 28th) which is when we'll be holding our Class Eisteddfodau and adjudication of all the Eisteddfod competitions will take place.

DIOLCH YN FAWR IAWN A PHOB LWC!!

Covid 19

I ask all families to work with school to make sure we can operate fully and keep school a safe environment. Please help us do this by making sure you contact school immediately if there is a case of COVID-19 in your household. Please email mountpleasant.primary@newport.gov.uk to support us with the ‘warn and inform’ process. By doing this staff will be able to look out for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 within our school community and act accordingly.

Please help us operate fully and keep COVID-19 out of our school. It is important we all fully understand that any student or staff member with any of the three symptoms of COVID-19 e.g. new persistent cough, fever and/or loss of taste or smell, should not attend school but should self-isolate, arrange a PCR test and notify the school of this. We are asking all families to take a cautious approach.
