During year 3 children will be encouraged to improve their handwriting by joining their letters in order to gain their 'pen licence'.
Hopefully we will be having a handwriting booklet for the children to take home and continue developing these skills. Until then I have found a very useful website that explains the method we use in Mount Pleasant and helpful hints and tips if you wish to practise this at home.
This can be used as a tool to practise handwriting at home. Use it at your own pace and work through the booklet carefully, making sure you understand the joins. When I can see this being used consisitently in your work then you will achieve your pen licence.
Use the tutorials to help you as this explains how the joins need to be completed.
