This week in English we have been reading and responsing to written text about the moon we had a comprehension to fill in aswell. To help us we had a fact page about the moon so we can find , change and understand all about the moon and the moons surfaces.
This week also we had to complete a comprehension on venus aswell as the moon it was similar but instead this time we had a book instead all about the planet Venus, it told us all about what was inside the wonderful planet of Venus!!

Ms Luckwell's Maths group
This week in Maths we have started of the week by Area of a Triangle, this is the method we were taught this week. First you times length by width and divide it by two becauseif we didn't divide it by two we would be working out the area of a square, you divide it by two so you are working out the area of a triangle. Here is a picture to help you understand:
We did that for about half of the week and from Thursday on we were doing Christmas activity's we started by doing Elf themed work we worked out what different outfits that can be on the elves and how many days it takes and how many combinations they will make between 4 Elves.
This week we have been mainly studying Shakespere and the going on to doing and reading the Tempest, which was William Shakespeares most recent play he wrote!

This week in Literacy we have been doing alot of things on the Iron Women, we have been plotting out the feelings from the book on to a line graph, we did three different characters for example, Lucy, Iron Women and Lucy's Mum, Here are some of the photos of our work, also we have been making venn diagram, writing a letter to Mr Wells about saying our worrie about all the insidents that have been happening and writing a conversation between The Iron Women and The Iron Man. We have been Predicting the last chapter of the book, once we had read chapter 6 we made a conclusion linking it to our Prediction, we have also been evaluating, the book. Here are some of our work:

In Project we have been learning about all the gas because somone came in and spoke to us about coal, hydro, gas, oil, biomass, nuclear, tidal, offshore wind, onshore wind. Then we wrote facts about each electricity generaters, Here is the pictures:

This week in Art we have been doing Multi Cultuaral Week We have been drawing sketches of peopl who made world History that are Multi Cultural Example: Barack Obama or Nelson Mandela, Bob Marley:
In Maths we have been doing Long Multiplication and table drawing. In the Table Drawing you had to do it on Seconds in day Seconds in a week and so on, in long multipliacation you had to drop numbers down to the next colum.

This week in pe we learnt how to do the haka ,we worked together in groups and put our own haka together following the group leaders, they were Rhia Tandon, Corey Hadley, Harrison Guy and Louis Perkin.

This week we have been doing little booklets for the infants, 1M = Miss Medhursts Class. We wrote our plans into our literacy books
Friday 18th September 2015
In English this week we had to write a poem either on the ipads or in our English book. The poem was asking people what sustanability is and writing a metaphorical poem. We all did amazing work that was a high standard. I hope we can do it again, it was really fun!
In Maths we have been learning place value and shapes, here are some examples to show you. Ms Luckwell showed us the difference between 2D shapes and 3D shapes.
This week in Art with Miss. Philips, we have been sketching in pencil and shading with oil pastels in the style of Sir John Kyffin Williams.
We recorded what we already know about sustainability. We used our class learning wall to display our ideas which then helped us to create a mind map using Poplet. We really enjoyed both activities.

Friday 11th September 2015
In science this week we were looking at different forms: liquid, solid and gas. We had to draw three pictures of liquid, solid and gas in molecules and atoms. After we drew those we had to explain what a solid, liquid and gas was. We then explained the process of how those three things turned from solid to gas.
In geography this week we had a map of the world and on that map we had to label all the continents, mountain ranges, capital cities and countries. I found geography really fun this week because I like labeling things around the world and finding out where other places were that I never knew before I did the geography lesson.
In art this week we did sketch with Miss Phillips. We had to find out the difference between Van Gogh paintings and Hockney paintings.We also looked at different types of paintings and we had to find the differences from one painting to another but the two main paintings were the ones from Van Gogh and Hockney.
In history this week with Miss Phillips we looked at different types of theories like the assasination of John F Kennady, a few things about Atlantis and the Bemuda Triangle.
In maths this week we looked at place value in numbers:10 100 1000 10000 100000 and 1000000!

Friday 4th September 2015
In art with Miss Phillips we did splat painting in the style of Jackson Pollock. It was very fun and got us all working together even though it was very messy!!!
In English we wrote about our highlights of the holidays. We had to focus on our openings and banned words: like, and, so, we, and so we.
In Maths we all changed to our groups just to say hello to our maths teachers and see who was in our classes. We were in Ms Luckwell's and played a quick game of hit the button, we all enjoyed it.
In I.C.T this week we went on the computers and started our personal profile's for our investors in pupils handbook.
